Youth Human Capital Valuation – Youth Skills Survey 2022

The research study seeks to identify the strengths and weaknesses of youth skill development among Caribbean Youth ages 16-29 in the areas of Foundational Skills, Digital Skills, Job Specific Skills and Entrepreneurial Skills in order to develop strategies that build upon existing skills or motivate our youth to acquire relevant skills in globally competitive, emerging fields.

What are the Skills?
1. Foundational Skills – Literacy, numeracy, writing, creativity
2.
Digital Skills – Knowledge supports the development of digitally literate youth who
can use and understand technology, search for and manage information, communicate,
collaborate, create and share content, build knowledge, and solve problems.
3.
Job-Specific Skills – Technical and vocational skills, are associated with one or more
occupations, such as carpentry, accounting or engineering and support the transition of
older adolescents into the workforce
4.
Entrepreneurial Skills – Goal setting, business management are closely interrelated
with other types of skills, and support business and social entrepreneurship
